Let’s go into depth on one of my absolute favorite Topwater baits that hasn’t let me down year-round. I’m talking about the River2Sea Bubble Walker. This Lure has been one of my sneaky secret baits that ALWAYS tempts results! Here on the West Coast you can find bass and other fish species with this lure through all seasons. It makes a very unique fish calling sound due to the tungsten rattles and bubble creating lip that sounds as natural as a fleeing or wounded baitfish. It leaves behind a lot of bubbles, and the blowups are EXPLOSIVE!!!
It’s a very unique lure that you can pop, walk, and chug. I have one bubble walker that, I kid you not has landed over 160 fish, so many that I’ve lost count. Why do I bring this up? This lure has been extremely durable! I have only had to replace my rear hook once through all my catches and the body is still in great condition!
Let’s discuss size. My go-to has always been the Bubble Walker 80. It is 3” long and is 1/2oz in weight. This size can put a lot of numbers in the boat whether I am in a tournament or just fun fishing. The second size River2Sea carry’s is the 128. This is a much larger profile walker and is 5” long and weighs in at 1 1/4oz. Both come with sharp Daiichi hooks and a great selection of proven colors. The 128 is a great size when you are searching for that “Big Bite” or, are you a Striped Bass Fisherman? Throw the 128 out in the middle of the River, walk it and see what happens. Your Welcome 😊
Where do I throw this bait for Bass? At the Delta I will throw it in front of Tule pockets and the inside and outside edge of Hydrilla patches depending on the tide. In lakes I throw it on points and rockpiles where there is bait nearby. Or, my favorite is chasing bass blowups while there chasing bait to the surface and chucking it at the action in early spring and fall. If the bass are 15 feet down and suspended I have had them come up to destroy this bait when they are active, and worked slowly in open water.
This is a great gift idea for that fisherman in your life for this upcoming holiday, and these aren’t the only big fish catching options River2Sea carry’s.
