Bass Angler Magazine Cool iPad app under $2

June 27, 2011 by Ron Howe

Anglers can now download and read Bass Angler Magazine, watch linked videos, and go right to a Web site from the comfort of their iPad or iPhone.

In conjunction with iTunes “the bass fishing magazine that is written and run by bass anglers for bass anglers” Bass Angler Magazine announced yesterday April 12, 2011 the official launch of their downloadable app.  As BAM kicked off their revolutionary step into the digital world Editor-in-Chief Mark Lassagne offered an exclusive interview.

“We are the first fishing magazine to develop an iPad/iPhone app,” stated Lassagne.  Explaining that Bass Angler is now entering uncharted territory. Being a small company has it advantages in that we don’t have the red tape and can upgrade and change on the fly. “If it’s good for the anglers then it’s good for us”,  he continues. Lassagne is enthusiastic about what the future will bring, Currently there are Web and video links for our in-book advertisers. “Besides having more articles than any other bass magazine we are now working to make each issue more interactive with new videos explaining techniques and information about the articles, plus future links to the writer’s and other websites.”

The cost of the app will set an angler back less than the cost of a pack of plastics, running only $1.99.  The download cost includes one free magazine download in any available edition.  Each additional issue runs $4.99 or a subscription which includes any four issues totals $17.99.  Various publications can be chosen from the available library or future releases.

At this time downloads are available for the “sold out print version” Winter 2011 edition that features Paycheck Baits Punch Master Bub Tosh on the cover and Spring 2011 issue with fishing icon and 3-time U.S. Open winner Mike Folkestad.  The Summer 2011 issue will be available in June 2011.  Each new issue is expected to hit the iTunes Apple Store and brick-and -mortar outlets simultaneously.

Lassagne anticipates this as an opportunity to give the readers more of what they want and encourages anglers to provide feedback on the app for future editions.  He stated, “Just like the print magazine you can look to us to improve with each issue.” Don’t go another day without BAM at your fingertips, download the app here from the iTunes store.

For those of you who don’t own a iPhone or iPad an e-Magazine from Pocket Mags is available by clicking here The e-Magazine looks wonderful and reads nicely with zoom and various other features; however, the Web and video links are not live yet but will be added at a later date.
