My partner and I fished the Angler’s Choice WRL event today on the Delta. Fished clear to stained water in the central Delta with the water temps around 65 degrees. Our game plan fell apart from the start so had to scramble around and junk fish for the rest of the day. Ended up with only 2 keepers… The Delta wins again! We were able to catch fish on senko’s in green pumpkin/blk flake along with the D&M stick bait in the same color and flipped CA 420 beavers for a couple fish with the best one of the day going 6.60 lbs.
Today’s event followed the 6 hour rule that runs from June 15th to Sept 15th, so since we were done with the event early, we were determined to get back at these fish, so we fished for a couple more hours going to a spot that we discussed hitting during the event, but did not end up following through on the conversation…big mistake there! Of course we started catching fish that could have drastically helped us out for the event, but can’t turn back time…so we looked at it as a learning experience and reminder to never second guess a gut feeling…plus a little redemption.
