Camp Far West Fishing Report 5-3-14

Camp Far West is at full pool. The water temp was in the low seventy’s and had a slight stain that was consistent throughout the lake. With the lake being full I was able to fish all my favorite points starting with a few at the mouth of the river.I was expecting it to be a good bite today and I wasn’t disappointed. The first point was loaded with cookie cutters and I was able to boat twenty plus fish in the first hour on a shaky head and drop shot. The second point was as good as the first but had better quality bass holding on it in ten to sixteen feet of water. The bite was really aggressive today.I’m always impressed with how hard those little spotted bass fight.I covered alot of water today just because I was having so dang much fun.At every stop i caught fish, some on the IMA pinjack crankbait and some on jigs.Truth is you can choose your favorite way to catch-em and just go for it.I did see some action on the surface but never threw a top water bait.Camp Far West Lake does get really busy on the weekends but if you’re able to get out on a week day you’ll own the lake.Good Luck and always wear your life vest Bob Tyler
