Camp Far West 2/22/2015
Houston Hamre and I launched the boat at 8 a.m. from the north shore ramp. The lake is now at full pool and the water temp was 55 with 3 ft. visibility. Before we left the dock we spoke with a fellow bass fanatic who has been tearing them up from the shore. He told us he was using a Carolina rig with a green pumpkin Zoom worm and proved it by catching a nice bass before I got the boat ready to go. We started fishing up the river arm with drop shot and dart heads. Plenty of spots but all 8 to 10 inch dinks. Worked our way back toward the main lake searching for bait and larger fish but all small fish. Went up the north side arm all the way to the back but the same thing. The wind picked up and started blowing hard out of the north so we went out on the main body and fished points with drop shot Berkley Gulp Minnows and finally found numbers of keeper size fish. My friend Brad Carter fished solo the same day. Found him out on the lake early on and asked how he was doing and he said “Good”. Saw him later in the day and asked him how he was doing and he pulled two largemouth bass out of his livewell that went 3 to 3 1/2 pounds and dropped them back in the lake. Nice to see largemouth in this lake again. Thank you for checking in with rbbassfishing.net and be sure to like us at Rb Bassfishing on Facebook for even more.
