4-16 12 Camp Far West Lake fishing report by Bob Tyler.
If you’ve been waiting for good weather and great fishing to take the kid’s out for a day on the lake then it’s time to hook up the boat and go. I got on the water today at about 10:00 o’clock with friend’s Bob and Dave fishing out of two boat’s.The water temp was 60 to 63 degree’s and very stained. We started up the rock creek arm and were immediately on the fish.We caught them on shaky-head’s,dart-head’s drop-shot and crankbaits.Right now you can just pick your favorite way to catch them and go for it. The action was fast and furious. we fished until 5:30 and it never let up.I even caught them by the boat ramp waiting for the trailer to be backed in. Color was not a factor today,we threw watermelon candy, brown’s, morning dawn, and Aaron’s magic.it all worked. The drop-shot ended up being the big producer of the day,I honestly don’t know how many fish we caught,we lost count,it was a 50 plus day.The weather is settled now so this great bite should hold for awhile.Dont miss this window, today was one of the funniest I’ve had in a while. It’s a great time to introduce a friend to fishing. This is the point where I usually say good luck but your not going to need luck. The fishing is that good.
