It’s a Tough bite at Camp Far West right now.
Launched at 7:00 form the North ramp with forty seven degree water temps and a slight stain that was consistent throughout the entire lake.My fishing partner for the day was Dana Sheldon, Dana also knows CFW very well and stated that today was one of his toughest days ever on the lake.We started out on main lake points, I was throwing a Pro Worm rigged on a shaky head and Dana was going big with a hud. The shaky-head boated three fish for me today, while the hud offered up no fish for Dana. Dana did however manage to catch two nice spots on a custom jig of his own.
All the fish were caught in about ten to fifteen feet of water. We graphed alot of fish and bait today and also tried to catch them on a drop-shot but to my surprise never had a single bite on the drop-shot witch is a go to at CFW. Myself and Dana both believe, that the high pressure has turned them off, but that shouldn’t be the case for long. Today was a great reminder that you don’t have to catch fish to have a super time on the water. So as always stay safe and take a kid fishing.
