Camp Far West Lake:
Got on the water about 9:00 am with a blue bird sky, and the water smooth as silk. I started the day idleing to rock creek looking for ball’s of bait fish.I was’nt able to find them in the back of cove’s as hoped,so I headed up the bear river arm to a favorite spot I call aqua forest. There I found the bait I was looking for and camped out on top of them. I offered up a six inch morning dawn Robo Worm rigged on a drop-shot and quickly boated four fish in the one pound range. From there I bounced from tree to tree bagging three more in the same weight range. Hoping to catch bigger fish, I switched to a twin tailed grub rigged on a football head jig and targeted rocky point’s. To my suprise i didnt get bite for over an hour, even thou some guy’s fishing near me were having success with the jig pattern. So at this point wanting to feel something on the end of my line I made a quick run to the island by the dam, picked up the drop-shot and started sticking the spot’s in 15 to 25 ft of water. It was a perfect day on the water and I’m glad I went. The water level is high for Camp Far this time of year and you can launch from the larger newer ramp on the North Shore. Good Luck and take a kid with you.
“good luck”
