Capitol Autism Services and Land Park Academy are supporting Folsom Bass Team’s 7th annual “Catch a Special Thrill (C.A.S.T.) for Kids” event for children with special needs and disadvantages. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, located approximately 20 minutes east of Sacramento, at the Granite Bay Launch Facility. Whether a sponsor or participant, you are invited to attend the event.
The day begins at 8:00 am at the “Check in” table. Here, up to 40 Pre-registered kids will “check in” to receive a fishing rod and reel, tackle box, hat, and t-shirt to keep, and a life vest to wear for their boating and fishing experience on Folsom Lake. They will then be paired with a boat captain and fishing buddy. Boats with a child and their Parent or Guardian will launch at about 9:00 am and return around 11:00 am.
Between 11:30 am and 12:30 noon, a barbecue luncheon will be provided for all participants and volunteers to enjoy. At 1:00 pm, we will have an awards ceremony for all of the kids, including a picture and plaque. The awards ceremony is the final activity and it will end at approximately 1:30 pm.
If you are interested in participating in this year’s C.A.S.T. event, please follow the instructions on the participant registration form or sponsor reply form and return by April 15th. There are a limited number of reservations available and will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have any questions about the event, please contact me at 916-233-8068, or by electronic mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to having you join us!
