Clear Lake Fishing report for 7/26/14
I fished a tournament out of Redbud today with my friend Bob Pietruzska,The algae bloom is in full swing and the lake level is lower than I’ve ever seen it. The water temps ranged from the mid seventies to low eighties.Launching is still no problem from Redbud. It took twenty-five pounds to win today, the winning team caught their fish on chatter batis and senkos.Second place ran North and caught theirs on Black frogs. The third place team got-em on shad pattern crankbaits and forth was on dart-heads rigged with margarita mutilator worms. Our bag all came on a double prop buzz baits in both chartreuse and blue gill.We threw them into the green slop over one to five feet of water. We also got bit on spinner baits and punching and flipping the grass.Randy Pringle of the BBT puts on very well run and fun tournaments.Clear Lake is obliviously all over the map right now.Cover alot of water and look for the schools of bait fish and you’ll have a good day. Good Luck Bob Tyler
