My partner Jeff and I fished Clear Lake on 7-23 and 7-30 for the WRL events out of Red Bud Park. Our pre-fish gave us great hopes of having a good event on 7-23, but things changed up and we ended up just missing a check for the event. We decided to fish the following weekend’s tournament and use the prior week’s event as a stepping stone to this event. We ended up doing about 2 pounds better than the prior week, but again fell just out of check range. We of course had fun each time and learned some new stuff about the lake that we can take into future events. We ended up throwing jig’s, senko’s, drop shot’s, dart heads, buzz baits, frogs and crank baits for both events and just could not get a big bite to happen for us.
