11-4-12 Ca Delta fishing report.
Today I fished Franks Tract,Taylor slough and Sand Mound. The water temp was mid sixtys and pretty clear in most areas.I started my day with the buzz bait for the first hour and never had a hit,my friend Jeff was punching the thick grass mats with a bluegill pattern bait and having a little success. After a few hours of this we decided to pick up the crank baits and cover alot of water along the Rip-Rap. This only produced small fish,so next on the agenda was the drop-shot.The Drop-shot quickly proved itself to be the best choiceof the day fished along the grass lines in eight to twelve feet of water by giving up a nice five pounder followed by a couple three and two pounders.Finding the bait fish was key to our success today, If your not getting bit just keep moving and slow down once you find them.Good Luck Bob Tyler.
