Delta Report
I finally had the chance to hit the river this past weekend with my good friend Greg Ervine from the Big Bass Brotherhood. Its been close to a month since the last time I went out, so I wasnt sure what to expect. We launched out of ladds at day break. I figured if we start out west and work our way back we should be pretty successful. Water temperature was 60 to 65 degrees. The tide was outgoing all morning untill ten, the tide topped off at three forty. There was a slight breeze on the water just enough to break the clarity up. We start off the morning throwing spinner baits and crank baits on isolated tule burms. Caught a few small fish on spinner baits, I picked up the crank bait and stuck one a little over seven. The tide started to get at the point where you cant throw a spinner bait or a crank bait so I tied on a chatter bait. Greg continued flipping baby brush hog and throwing a spinner bait behind me. Theses fish seem to hold better on berms with some current on them. We started to berm jump our way back. Greg was killing the fish behind me. Alot of solid 2.5 to pound fish on spinner baits and brush hogs. I manged to pick up a 6.5, and a few 4.5 to 3 pounders, the bites were far and few in between on the chatter bait but the ones that did eat where good ones. Overall it was a good beautiful day on the delta!
