I hit the delta this past Saturday, wasn’t sure what to expect with this small front blowing through. I figured the bite could be phenomenal or tough as nails. I found it to be tough, I threw the kitchen sink at them and couldn’t figure out to get a big fish. Most of the fish we patterned this weekend were in a transition stage, right on the edge of flats suspended in 8 feet of water chasing shiners. I’ve found the key to this past weekend’s bite is to look for the bait fish. If your around bait your around the bass! The delta is kicking out a lot of 2 fish right now that could be caught on a variety of different presentations from topwater reactions to light line finesse fishing. Don’t forget this is also the time of year to catch a Monster Striper.
Hope this will help you on your next fishing trip!
