On Thursday my father and I fished the delta. I launched out of lads and headed for mildred. I started fishing west banks, and quickly found that the water was muddied, and was 58 degrees. A junebug sinister worm texas rigged with a 1/4 oz River2sea weight with a 3/o Daiichi hook. They were crushing it! No giants but 3 and 4 pounders were frequent. If you are planning a trip to the delta be sure and find west banks. Use a junebug or black and blue worm and target 2 to 8 feet of water. Keep in mind that these fish want warm water and are trying to move shallow. Slow presentation is key. I hope that these tactics will be useful for you next time you fish the delta.
