The Delta is proving to be tough right now for quality bites. Lots of small fish with a few decent ones mixed in is common.
The bite changes from day to day so be ready to make changes according to the weather. One day the fish are shallow and will take a senko or a punch bait like the DM punch craw, or a Berkley Havoc baits such as the pit boss on a heavy action rod with 65lb Spiderwire. Flip grass, tules or any heavy cover. Make sure to cover lots of water to find the groups of fish. On other days the fish are deeper and dropshotting or cranking will be a good bet for some steady action. Look for areas with wind for your best results. Topwater is on and off again from day to day with the change of the tides. Somedays they will eat a spook and other days a buzzbait.
Be ready to make many changes as our Summer weather is not stable neither is the bite.
Good Luck Ron Howe
