Future Pro Tour “Opening season brings a bundle of new and exciting incentives”

February 7, 2012 by Ron Howe

SACRAMENTO Ca. – As the 2012 Thunder Valley Outdoors/Future Pro Tour quickly approaches its 10th year, and another exciting season opener, participating anglers will be glad to know that they will be able to share in more fun and incentive awards than ever before.

Just a few of the exciting programs that have been put in place to help underscore and celebrate the tour’s 10th opening season event are:

 Angler Services Department

Our new Anglers Services Department which will host free breakfast pastries, and boat snacks for anglers before the opening season event,  free lunch after the event, along with a huge raffle for premium prizes during the awards ceremony.

New “Up and Coming” – competition/division

For those just getting started with competitive tournament angling, the addition of the “Up and Coming” competition give those anglers – new to competitive bass fishing, the opportunity to compete against the regular field of anglers while at the same time measure their talents – and get extra cash rewards for their performance, against anglers at their same experience level at no additional cost!  Full details regarding this division are in the Rules section of the FPT website www.futureprotour.net)

“Future Future” Pro division /Youth Scholarship Event

Expanding on an already growing youth division, where our commitment is to groom and keep the interests levels of our youth high, we will for 2012, host the first ever Youth Scholarship Tournament which will help our youth with their futures outside of the fishing industry. This tournament will take place at the end of summer in conjunction with the annual Take-A-Kid Fishing presented by Berkley.

To qualify for participation in this no-entry tournament, youth that have fished at least one FPT event during the 2012 season, will get to compete for  scholarship money for their future education!  Full details regarding this division are available in the Rules section of the FPT website (www.futureprotour.net)

Gamakatsu “Hook and Hold” Em Challenge!

Gamakatsu USA, makers to the world’s finest hooks, is again presenting the “Hook and Hold Em”, challenge to the first 100 teams in our season opener, providing each team with a FREE set of premium Gamakatsu hooks for their top water, or crankbaits, along with an official Gamakatsu decal, which must be placed on the team’s boat. The team that catches the biggest fish of the event – that has the Gamakatsu decal placed on their boat in a conspicuous place, wins the challenge and will be able to order up to $100 worth of Gamakatsu premium hooks!

Early Bird drawing!

And don’t forget to get your membership in before Feb 15th so you can be entered into a raffle for your choice of a Minn Kota Fortrex 101 or 80 (valued at over $1,000), a Humminbird Fish Finder, a Minn Kota 2 or 3-bank battery charger, and other great “early bird” prizes!

Remember… your membership fees help pay for the costs of permits and insurance, so you will never be charged any additional fees at FPT events!

Our season openers kick-off March 3rd at Lake McClure (central region) and March 17th at Lake Berryessa (northern region) were the showdown and race for the 2012 FPT Classic Crown begins anew, giving one of only 90 teams the chance at winning a boat – produced by a company that still builds legends one at a time.

So get ready as we prepare for the 10th – and best season ever of Future Pro Tour competition and excitement. We can’t promise that you will catch fish…but we can guarantee that you will meet great people, improve on your bass fishing skills, and have a ton of fun in the process!

See you all at the openers!
