I recently fished lake Amador with my buddy, Mike Cole. The weather was brutal, but we still managed to put a few keepers in the boat. As we started the day in Jackson creek arm we quickly realized that the water had muddied from wind and and runoff. The conditions had changed water clarity to 6 inches and water temp was 55 degrees. I fished the Jackson arm for about an hour with no sucess, so we made an adjustment finding cleaner water. We found it in the carson arm and right away began to get bites. As we fished our way to the back of carson, fishing got good. All of our fish were caught on a river2sea jig with a sinisterwackyworms trailer and a dropshot pb&j hooker customlures finesse worm. Down sizing was key 20 to 30 ft was the key to getting better bites. Keep in mind that these fish are trying to move shallow. Fish the last deep water to spawning areas.
