Fished lake Amador with 2 clients last Friday night from 6pm til 4am. The overall bite was fair to decent however the realy big fish never showed up, and our largest of the night went 5.5lbs. Evening bite was slow with only 2 topwater bites before dark. The majority of the fish seemed to be between 18′ and 23′ deep on main lake points. 2am till 4am provided us with the best action as the fish finally began to move up on the points and start feeding. Our best sucees came on plastic baits such as brush hogs and lizards rigged both Texas and Carolina rigged. We had to fish slow and just wait them out. The lake is very healthy with a good tint to the water and only about 12′ down from full, the next no moon and full moon phase should kick out some quality fish. Try fishing from 2am till morning on the main points and im sure you will get some good bites. Good luck!
