Went fishing today with my team partner Jeff Wright and his son Logan.
We launched out of Capell cove ramp at 9:00 and decided to head north.
The water temp was averaging 50 degree’s and Gin clear.
We made about a five minute run to a nice looking cove and went to work.
Jeff started out with a reaction bait, Logan was dragging a Texas rigged worm
and I picked up the Alabama rig.
All was well until my second cast, when I reared back let it sail and POP!!!.
Bye Bye to my only A-rig. Not the way you want to start your day.
So with that option gone I picked up my trusty drop-shot and moved on.
The bird’s were in the area, the bait fish were in the area and No Bite’s.
This was the case until 3:00 when we pulled up on a nice wind blown, rocky bank
and finally got a bite on the reaction bait.
We caught a total of four fish on this bank in about 1/2 hour. The biggest being a
four pounder.
I talked to several angler’s throughout the day on the water and they all
reported a tough bite. I don’t know what’s turned the fish off, But hopefully
the condition’s will change soon.
All in All it was a fun day on the water and as all tournament angler’s know.
You don’t have to catch them to learn something.
So Get Up,Go Fish and Have FUN.
