New Years Day Turkey Shoot with the RB Bass brothers. Morning temps were a bit on the chilly side. Wind out of the north early. I fished a watermelon red jig on wind blown points with good success. Had to stick with lighter jigs as the heavy stuff was not getting bit. I moved around the middle part of the lake and found fairly good fishing for the entire day. The wind did switch later in the day and it seemed to cause the bite to slow a bit. I caught 16 fish for the day with 15 keepers. @ on a tube the remainder on the jig. The water was a bit cloudy following the heavy winds from the days before. Water temps are still a bit warm at 56. All fish were caught on 15lb Berkley Trilene 100% fluorocarbon. Winter fishing is at its best on Berryessa from now through March. Get out on the water and cast a line.
