Lake Lanier Fishing Report by Jimbo’s Spotted Bass Guide Service

May 22, 2019 by Randy Walker

Water Temp –   74  degrees
Water Level –   .5 feet Over full poolCurrently the lake stands at .8 feet over full pool, and sits around 76 degrees surface temperature. The lower lake has started to clear up and the water looks good.

NOW is the time to book your Topwater Trip for June!  Nothing beats the topwater bite on Lanier – my dates WILL FILL UP FAST, so don’t delay
CALL NOW to book your June Topwater Experience on one of these remaining open dates: 3(PM), 4(PM), 5, 6, 11(PM), 12, 13, 18, 19, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28.

The bass fishing on Lake Lanier remains very good and we are seeing several post-spawn fish.  A Georgia Blade spinnerbait, a Lanier Baits 3.5 Swimmer, and even some topwater have been productive, and of course a worm.  The Georgia Blade Spinnerbait on shallow rock has remained good for us this week in the wind, as has swimming a Lanier Baits 3.5 Swimmer on a 1/8 LB jighead.  The fish we are catching remain shallow in most cases – focus on 15 feet and less. Points, humps, rocks, docks – all have fish on them.   When the fish aren’t chasing, the worm on a shaky head is hard to beat. A whacky-rigged senko is also a good option in the worm category as well. Want more specific details? Keep scrolling…

Check Out the Impact these reports have had on the local anglers:

Hey,

Good report. It’s great because I went yesterday and killed it. I found the exact pattern you spoke of. fished way up north, Saw top water schooling, moved in with a fluke and scored several. Went back later, moved out further and found bigger ones piled up and drug a spinner bait below them and pulled out another load.
The report is nice because it confirms the question in my head yesterday.”is this a one off pattern” and your research and video gives me confidence that I actually found something and made the most of it.

Thanks!!!!    Michael Shively

Jimbo! Just wanted to say that you do such and awesome job on your videos!! I really look forward to Thursdays!!
All the best,
Todd Failor
I don’t think I would have done as well if not for your reports, so I felt like I owed you some of the credit.  Keep on putting out the info!
