Lake Mc Clure Fishing Report
The topwater bite is a key to the bigger limits if you can get them to really commit. I have had quite a few from 2lbs to 4lbers jump all over the spook type of bait that I am using and miss the hooks totally. Throw a spook type of bait or even the smaller Lunker Punkers in the small cuts with grass next to the steep walls. Most of the bass are largemouth that I am getting on the topwater baits too. Walk it as slow as you can too. Another bait to use for catching a lot of fish is a Yo-Zuri ripbait in a hitch color, the shad are very big and the ripbait can get you quite a few fish. I ripped until I hit a cut then out came the topwater bait. I did this all day. One more item to add to your arsenal out there is a Berserk brown jig that has a trailer with some red or orange in it. I use the Green Pumpkin/Fire baby brawler by Berserk as well. They are eating crawdads like crazy too.
