Lake Mcclure fishing report for February.
Fishing has been a bit slow with the cold fronts that have moved in. Water temp is in the low to mid 50’s. One day the fish are in the top ten feet of water then the next day they are back in 60 feet. The shallower fish are alot thicker and are coughing up lots of crawdads. Small jigs and tubes are producing the better fish but you have to cover alot of water till you find them. Dropshotting 4″ oxblood or progold worms between 30 feet to 60 feet on most main lake points will provide a small limit but you will have to weed thru alot of fish to catch some better ones. In the mornings dont be afraid to throw the A-Rig or a River to sea S-Waver, there have been reports of fish being caught. If the weather becomes a bit more stable expect the pre-spawn bite to be off the hook.
Good luck and Set The Hook!
