Hogan fishing report With the large amount of water coming in and cold nights it's been a grind on Hogan. Water temps are 47-50 degrees and clarity is non existent. I always start out power fishing on Lake New Hogan, I started cranking upriver with a sexy shad 5xd. Got two small keepers in about 15 foot of water and continued working on a pattern. I switched through a hand full of baits and depths trying to find a consistent bite. I eventually got two more on jigs in about ten foot of water and started realizing they were up shallow in the 1-5 range. Also realized that they needed it moving and making sound so they could key in on it. I switched to a river2sea big papa in TW red and started burning down the banks. I even got two including one of the best fish on a spook. Somedays you can't rely on seasonal patters, let the fish tell you what they want and where. Good luck out there and watch for floating debris and submerged island tops.
