Lake Pardee Fishing report

April 4, 2011 by Ron Howe

April 2nd 2011

Weather incoming front mostly cloudy with cooler breezes

Air Temp 56-70 deg

Water Temp 57-59 deg

Water clear to slight stain

We had 3 days of 80deg+ weather in a row and then saturday another cold air front passed through northern Ca. changing the fish that had just moved up. Lake Pardee is full and has risen quickly with the snow melt in the sierras. Fish had moved up to spawn and you can see brushed off bedded areas that are vacant. Most the Bass pulled off the bank with this front. I did see a few fish to 5lbs cruising , but very skittish. The fish have yet to move into coves , but are more on flat points with grass near bye or rocky points that provide ambush opportunties for the bass. Drop shotting with morning dawn worms and tossing senko’s in green pumpkin worked well for me today, I had to cover alot of water to catch fish. It was a dead stick bite dont move the dropshot and dont move the senko just throw it up there and they will swim away with it. Fish today were up to 4 lbs and were all largemouth bass best 5 would have gone 16lbs today. This lake is primed and ready to explode with big bass opportunties. If your looking for a chance to catch a true giant 10+ you need to take your shot at Lake Pardee!

Good Luck
