Trout along the shoreline is tough as they are mostly being found in the cooler, deeper 40 to 60 ft water. Going upriver past the bridges and outside the mouth of the dam is productive trolling silver speedy shiners, mack wiggle hoochies or a hoochie/gold hammered dodger combo. Brown trout bite is fantastic upriver with several fish caught and released between 8 to 15 poumds. With dropping water levels kokanee bite is a search mission but anglers are seeing signs of them schooling up. A limit of kokanee can be had. Out in front of the dam or slightly out from spillway have produced the most fish recently. There have been some reports of kokanee being caught up around Angels Creek as well. Flutterbugs, hoochies in chartreuse, pink & orange or watermelon have been the hot lure behind a matching dodger.
Good action for bass on topwater using plugs and whopper ploppers from River2sea. Also underspins and crankbaits working. Try using a Lucky Craft screw pointer for those suspended or high pressured fish. Mornings are the best time for topwater switching to plastics later in the day. Shakey heads upriver have been producing a good bite on vertical walls, points and hill tops.
Catfishing is starting to heat up with this warmer weather. Cut baits, chicken livers and night crawlers are the baits of choice.
Best shot at catching crappie is getting into a cove dropping a light and using crappie jigs or live minnows.
