Hello fellow anglers,
I hope you have had a great summer and are ready for the upcoming fishing season. NorCal90 has once again been blessed with some great Sponsorships for the 2015 Season allowing us to host our first ever season ending Fish-Off. The Fish-Off will be entry fee free and will consist of a Cash payback from NorCal90, as well as Cash from NorCal90 Sponsors and a $10 Holdout from each entry at all of the points events. Currently we have $2000 in the pot and it will only get better as the season progresses. All events will be out of Bidwell Marina until water levels reach acceptable elevation to be at the Spillway. We will be hosting 2 fun events to start off the season, our first will be November 8th and the second will be either December 6th or 7th or both (more info soon, as sponsor monies are still coming in). These will be non point events allowing people to fish with whomever they choose, although all participants must be current NorCal90 members. No money will be withheld from these 2 events for the Fish-Off.
The 2015 points season will consist of 4 events, 1 event per month starting in January 2015 and ending in April of 2015. The Fish-off will be entry fee free and will be held at a secret location to be determined by NorCal90 and will not be revealed until 24-48 hours prior to the event. The fish-off will consist of 10 Teams and all teams must fish all 4 Points events to qualify for the Fish-Off, teams can qualify 1 of 3 ways:
1) Be 1 of the top 5 teams in points or,
2) Be the highest finishing team at one of the points events that did not get in based on points. ( 1 team from each of the 4 points events that did not qualify based on points) example: your team was 5th place at the Jan. event and 1st – 3rd place made the fish-off based on points and the 4th place team did not fish all 4 events…..
3) Finally we will draw (1) team that fished all 4 points events and did not make the fish-off based on either of the above ways.
Here are the Dates for the 2015 Points Season:
Jan. 4th – Sunday
Feb. 7th – Saturday
Mar. 8th – Sunday
Apr. 12th – Sunday
NorCal90 has decided to try a lower “ALL-IN” entry fee for the new season, the base entry will still be $130 which includes bigfish- and we will have (1) Option that will be $20 and will be split by the top 3 teams in the option pot for an “ALL-IN of $150”. As always option money will be 100% payback. If after this season there seems to be more interest in the extra options and an All-In of $200, we will definitely discuss reinstating them. I hope you all are as excited as we are for this season and we look forward to seeing many of you in the near future.
We tried to accomplish 2 Sat and 2 Sun events but because of conflicts and holidays we had to do 3 Sunday events. I hope this does not hinder anyone from coming out and enjoying the season and we will do our best to have an even schedule next year.
