Because the event features a true team format, the rules allow up to 3 boats (6 anglers) per team and school clubs are allowed to enter as many teams as they like. The limit will be 3 bass per boat and the winners will be determined by the cumulative weight of the top 2 boats each day. For clubs that are only able to enter 1 boat, each angler will be allowed to weigh up to 3 bass each day. Daily weigh-ins will be held at 2:00 pm at Paris Landing State Park on June 29 & 30. Complete rules can be found here.
“We’re looking forward to the collegiate anglers returning to Paris-Henry County, Tennessee, and Kentucky Lake,” said Jennifer Wheatley, Executive Director Paris-Henry County Chamber of commerce. “Last year’s inaugural event was great and we know everyone will enjoy both the fishing and our community.”
Extensive coverage of the tournament will be nationally televised on the Versus network from August – October 2011 as part of the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Series. The television series will feature coverage of several regional events as well as the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship and the Big Bass Bash presented by Hydrowave.
“The combination of Kentucky Lake and Paris, TN creates the perfect venue for this marquee event,” said Wade Middleton, Tournament Director. “Not only will the collegiate anglers enjoy fishing one of the nation’s top bass fisheries; they’ll also be treated to great hospitality and benefit from the amenities provided by our host city of Paris.”
