Rollins Lake Fishing Report

Rollins Lake Map

Rollins Lake 11-15-14
Had a club tournament this past weekend at Rollins with water temps were between 58-62 degrees, and 10-15′ clarity. The topwater bite was good for some but however I was on a deep water bite. 30′ was the magic depth for us dragging 4″ Kietech Easy Shiners on a 1/4oz dart head. We buzzed all around the lake in practice only to find one good area with lots of bait fish. The bait balls were key to catching lots of fish, especially if the bait fish were around grass. We took 3rd place out of 19 boats in the back of the north arm in the 30′ range. We stayed there all day and boated 9 keepers dragging the Kietech. Seemed every fish we caught had a mouth full of Pond Smelt and even some Craws were being eaten.

pond smelt

They are chewing, most fish were spotted bass in the 1-1.5 lb range, but there was 1 fish caught over 5lbs in this event and unfortunately it was not us lol. I hope this helps next time you plan on fishing at Rollins lake, until next time… Fish On!!!!
