US Anglers Choice Pro Am Series Press Release
The US Anglers Choice Pro-Am Trail returns to the California Delta for the final event of the 2010 season. And what an event it will be as this three day tournament will not only determine who will emerge as the 2010 Pro and Am Anglers of the Year, but will also determine those anglers who will be partaking in the bonus cash pool of nearly $30,000.

Additionally, this final event will feature “Bonus Cash” for the USAC Pro-AM anglers who have fished all 3 prior events (Oroville, Shasta, Clear Lake) during the 2010 season. Nearly $30,000 in bonus cash will be awarded in addition to the regular paybacks at this event, making it one of the bigger year end events.
The Angler of the Year race on the Pro side is close with Greg Gutierrez leading with 504 points followed by Dugan McIntosh with 501 points. Third place is a tie between Chris Zaldain and Preston Henson – both with 464 points.The Am race is tight as well with Doyle McEwen leading going into the Delta event with 479 points. Nipping at his heels is Fil Torres with 477 points, Roger Cummings with 471 points and Dana McGriff with 470 points. The Am race is wide open at this point.
Angler’s Choice Pro-am tournaments use a shared weight formula in which each day’s Pro and Am angler effectively fish as a team to catch their best five fish limit. The Pro and Am angler “Share” the total weight, which carries over to the next day of fishing. Pro and Am anglers are paired up with different partners for the second and any subsequent days of fishing. The AC CA Delta Pro-Am will be staged out of Russo’s Marina on Bethel Island which will act as both the starting and weigh in location. Wednesday evening check-in’s will be held at Delta Outdoors with the Thursday evening check-in and mandatory partner pairing meeting held at Russo’s Marina in the picnic area.
Entry fee for the 2010 USAC CA Delta Open is $425 for Pro anglers and $225 for Am anglers. Pro and Am anglers who sign up together are given a guaranteed entry status. All other entries will be taken on a first come, first serve basis and paired accordingly. Presently, we have an abundance of Am angler signed up, so it is imperative if you are a back seater that you find a pro to sign up with. All Options at Angler’s Choice Pro-Am events are paid back 100%. Options for the 2010 season will include a $50 Big Bass option that will pay out to the top two largest bass of each day. There is also a $50 Top 10 option that pays out to the top 10 Pro and top 10 Am anglers entered into this option pool at the end of the tournament.

You may then click on the entry form, print a copy and mail it in with a check or credit card. You may also enter over the phone by calling (800) 360-7112 and speaking with the Angler’s Choice tournament coordinator Sonia.
