Lake Tulloch fishing report
Water temp is between 58 and 60 degrees. The fish are starting to move up for the spawn. I spent most of the day shallow looking for beds. The best action I found was to put the boat in ten feet of water and throw wacky rigged senkos ahead of you while looking shallow for nests. The smallmouth bass have already started to bed and will eat anything u throw at them. Most of the smallmouth I found were between two and three pounds. The two major creeks on Tulloch have weeds starting to grow in them and that is where I found a few largemouth beds and a lot of cruisers. I found the best bite for largemouth was throwing a Texas rigged berkley havoc boss dog lizard in green pumpkin in any pockets of weeds and hopping it around. I was able to get a few cruisers on a TnT baits claymore bladed jig with a zoom fluke trailer swam through the grass. I only stayed out till noon but managed to catch plenty of fish up to 3lbs and saw numerous big girls wanting to spawn. Now is a great time to take a kid fishing. I took my son with me and he had a blast looking at all the fish cruising around and even managed to work a smallmouth off of a nest. Don’t forget to release the bed fish as soon as possible to keep from disrupting their spawn.
And as always, Set The Hook!
