“A little more about Danny Cross”
I was born and raised in northern CA. I am married to my wonderful supporting wife and have 2 children (8 and 5yrs old). I spend most of my childhood enjoying the outdoors, primarily hunting and trout fishing with the occasional pond outing for bass. When my wife and I got married in 2006 we purchased our first boat. It was a deep-v aluminum that was set up for trout with all the downriggers and such. In 2008 I ventured out to this magical place “clear lake” with this boat to see what all the hype was about. Well….. as it turns out this was my calling, that boat was sold the next weekend and I purchased my first bass boat. I started fishing recreationally for bass in the summer and still pursued my passion for hunting in the fall/winter. I got real into the big bait aspect and had a huge passion for swimbait fishing scene. By 2013 it was apparent that the bass fishing was taking over, I joined a local club (Eldorado bass club) and started fishing club tournaments year round. The next year I signed up for the future pro tour and started the tournament scene with partner Dugan Wilson. Our first season fishing FPT together we had a top 5 finish and a win. We finished out the season with a top 10 in AOY points and qualified to fish the FPT classic, which we were so fortunate to take the title. In 2015 we continued to fish the FPT series and had another top 5 finish and another win. We qualified again to fish the FPT TOC coming up in March of 2016 and look forward to defending our title. 2016 started out great with finishing 2nd at the WWBT first team event backed up by a 4th place finish at CTT on the pro side. As far as what the future holds, im just taking a it a step at a time, finishing out the WWBT team series and will hop on a few other events as time permits.
