Fished Salt Springs for the first time this year, the reservoir was fairly full. My family and I hit the water at 12:30 and fished until 7:30. There was no shortage of fish! We caught over 50 fish in the few hours we fished. The better bites seem to come on a drop-shot, fishing main lake points. We also did find some explosive bites in the back of coves on a Spro Bronzeye Popping Frog and a River2Sea Whopper Plopper 130. Our best five fish were around 22 pounds. The lake is healthy and doing better than ever! If your looking for a fishing destination out of boat traffic I would definitely recommend Salt Springs Reservoir!
