I’ve spend a couple of days the last month on Camanche. Catching numbers of fish is not a problem. Bigger fish have been harder to come by but at least getting a 5+ pounder a day. Knowing your mapping and where the humps with more structure has been key but you will find fish loaded on a hump one day then can’t catch a fish on that hump another day. You have to move around. Steep points and banks have a lot of fish right now as well. Every morning I get a few nice fish on a 8xd or 10xd crankbait in green gizzard color and a underspin with a 3.8 swimbait. Once the sun comes up I’ve been switching over to a brush hog or a hula grub on a jig head. I’ve been having no problem getting bit on green pumpkin throwing these baits in 20-40 ft. Topwater is slow but when you get bit it’s been a nice fish. Hologram shad roboworms have been putting lots of fish in the boat for me in the middle of the day when it seems to be the toughest. I’ve spent most of my time on main lake but the river has been good for me as well. If you are interested in a guided trip give me a call or text me!
