With this years BassMaster Classic set for Oklahoma’s Grand Lake and weigh-ins to be at Tulsa’s BOK Center as well as the Classic Outdoor Show across the street from the BOK Center at the Cox Business Convention Center, Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum recently spoke of the economic impact of the event for the greater Tulsa Area.
Bynum said “the tournament could bring in 100,000 visitors to the area. With many of them visiting for the very first time. From an exposure standpoint, the Bassmaster Classic will not only be recognized in this area but around the world, with https://www.bassmaster.com/ getting close to a million visits during Classic week, and the Fox network set to cover six hours of the Classic live.”
Hotels in the area are already booked with fans and vendors for the show. In addition to Tulsa’s Mayor, Oklahoma’s Lt Governor Matt Pinnell was excited for the event to showcase the outdoor activities offered by the State.
“This is a big, big deal for the State of Oklahoma” Pinnel said. “ It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase our State as a fishing and outdoor recreation destination. We have more than 200 lakes in the State of Oklahoma with over a million surface acres of water. We have more man made lakes than any other state in the country which is a real big deal. Which means our fishing selection is arguably the most diverse in the country. Our state’s waters are home to over 175 fish species.”
