Here is RB Bass Outdoors Angler Ron Howe to talk about life jacket safety. Making sure you have a proper life jacket for what you are doing is first and foremost. Second, accidents can happen in the blink of an eye, so whenever your big motor is running it is always best to have your life vest on and properly worn. There are different types of PFDs, full vest ones to the inflatable ones. Use the one that best suits you, but think about this if your ejected from the boat and something happens and the inflatable one doesn’t inflate or inflates only half way that could be a dangerous issues to have if ejected from the boat at a high rate of speed. The full vest style life jackets don’t have to worry about inflating and the life jackets that are rated for 100mph also have a nice neck wrap around to help upright you in the water as well. Summer is coming and lots of boats are about to be on the water. Just be prepared, make sure you have life vests for everyone on your boat. If you can try and get everyone to wear them while the big motor is running. Have fun and enjoy your time out on the water safely.
