Many of you may be very familiar with our newest member of RB Bass. Please welcome Apex Tour Pro
Luke Johns to the team. Luke is one of the youngest anglers on the Apex Pro Tour(23 years old). Don’t
let his age fool you this young angler has a long list of accomplishments. Luke has been on a hot streak
the past few years. During this hot streak Luke has won a Wild West Bass Trail Pro am on New Melones.
He was the 2021 Wild West Bass Trail Pro-Am Angler of the Year. Most recently he was the champion
on the 2022 Apex Pro Tour Spartan 580 on the Columbia River.
Luke’s fishing prowess did not fall out of thin air. Luke began fishing as a child with his grandfather.
Together they would go trout fishing at many of the local streams throughout the Sierra Nevada
Mountain Range. These trips to chase trout sparked Luke’s interest in fishing. Luke then began fishing
many of the local ponds around his hometown of Folsom, California. As his passion grew Luke began to
fish in local tournaments and showed great success.
Once Luke entered his high school years, he began fishing the local high school tournaments. As
passionate as he was, Luke decided to create the Vista Del Lago high School Fishing team. Vista Del
Lago’s fishing team in now one of the largest high school teams in the state!
Upon graduating from high school Luke knew his greatest goal in life was to fish professionally. To
ensure he knew the ins and outs of the fishing business Luke decided to enroll at Sacramento State
university where he is studying for his degree in Business Marketing. Amazingly, Luke has been able to
succeed both in the classroom and on the water.
During the 2023 season Luke will be fishing many tournaments including the Apex Pro Tour, Wild west
Bass Trail Pro-Ams, Wild West Bass Trail Pro Teams, and the newly released Western Bass Shootout.
