In about a month the BASSMASTER Elite Series will come to Sacramento and launch from the Sacramento River Downtown area. The Anglers can stay close and fish local and catch Spotted Bass, Smallmouth Bass or Largemouth Bass ,but many anglers will make the more than 1 Hour Run down to the California Delta looking for Giant Florida Strain Largemouth Bass! Navigating the Delta can be dangerous, numerous obstructions exist and hitting one with your Bass Boat would be a Bad Deal. With over 1,000 miles of water to Fish this will be a exciting Event!
IMA and Optimum Baits are RB BASS Sponsors and we were asked to take BASS Elite Angler Joe Sancho a IMA and Optimum Angler for a Delta Tour, Matt Paino Optimum Baits C.E.O dialed up Ron Howe one of the RB BASS Groups Tournament Anglers and a day on the Delta was planned.
Ron and Joe met at B&W resort a central location and off to the water they went. As it typically does in Spring the weather changed on this day and the winds picked up pretty good, all in all it was a good day of practice said Ron Howe who has upcoming events of his own on the delta soon with the Best Bass Tournament Trail. Rons goal was to show Joe how to safely navigate his way around the California Delta and see a few key areas that the big fish live in! We were able to catch a few good ones reports Ron Howe, but we would quickly leave the fish and keep looking at more water. Traveling all the way from New York Joe Sancho enjoyed his trip to California and now must pre pair for his next event on the BASSMASTER Elite Series. We wish him well when he returns to California! Good Luck Joe!
