Boat Cover Care
Just wanted to pass along a little info to help yoiu keep certain types of boat covers nice and waterproof. Mine is almost 17 years old. The sun and one of my cats claws are rough on the surface. Last I checked, it would be well over $1000 to have my custom cover replaced! I know there are plenty of generic covers available, but I’d rather keep mine nice! So there are a few of these rubber type spray materials out now. The one I’ve used with success is Plasti-Dip. It sprays out lightly and you can layer as thick as you need to. On this small area I used one good coat. It blended in nicely and the waterproofing qualities are improved from the wearing. The product is not as “soft” as the original, but it’s not hard nor does it crack or break off. The pics shown are a before and after of an area about 10″X10″. I did an area roughly 3’X3′ at the bow a few years ago, and it still holding up nicely. I hope this might help you keep a few more dollars in your pockets for lures and other fishing needs, rather than replacing a big ticket item. When your shopping for those lures, don’t forget outdoorproshop.com. Take care and see you out there!
