Camp Far West Lake has risen to about eighty percent capacity with the recent rain. The water temperature was a consistent forty eight and has a pretty good stain limiting visibility to about three feet. I was only able to fish the main body today due to engine trouble. We threw the spinner bait, rip bait, small swim baits, jig and a drop shot. The bite was the toughest I’ve ever experienced at CFW. We didn’t get a single bite until we made it to the middle of the dam where we got one on a rip bait and two on the drop shot. That was it for the day. Also you will need to be careful on pad because there is a tremendous amount of debris in the water right now. Good Luck on your next trip, fish slow.
