My buddy David and I hit Camp Far for a little fun fishing. Water temp in the morning was 76 at the ramp. The water visibility was about 3 to 4 ft on the main body. Lots of bass busting shad on the top so we tossed some poppers to start. Caught a number of small spots off the topwater baits but no quality fish. Made a run up the Bear River arm and fished the steeper banks with crankbaits, poppers and jigs. Caught numerous small fish in the ½ to 1 pound range. Worked our way back toward the main lake hitting various points and submerged island tops. Any place that had bait balls on it had active fish. Went into the back of quarter mile cove and found big schools of spots in about 25 to 30 ft. Dropped dart head jigs with Berkley Gulp minnows and small shad colored worms and started nailing fish. Again, all small but a ton of fun. The water temp reached 82 by late afternoon. Never did find the bigger fish but we had a blast. The lake is still holding a lot of water and the ramp is good to go. Thanks for checking in with RBBass and good luck on your next trip.
