My name is Christian Ostrander I am a 21 year old dedicated tournament angler and guide born and raised in the central valley. I started fishing at a young age and caught my first bass at the age of 9 in which I quickly grew a deep passion for the species. I was unlike most kids my age. Yeah video games and sports were cool but I just wanted to be on the river finding new spots to fish. In middle school, my dad bought an aluminum boat where he would drop a friend and I off at the river and pick us up the next day. When the sun went down we were forced to put down our rods and find a safe enough sand bank to lay a sleeping bag on. As a sophomore in high school I worked at C&C Marine until the end of senior year where I saved up enough money to buy a nice boat. Ever Since I’ve been taking tournament fishing very seriously. Spending countless nights sleeping in my truck at the boat ramp determined to expand my knowledge about bass fishing.
My style when approaching tournaments and making decisions is unique and intense. Having some tournament success over the past couple years has truly made me believe I can accomplish a dream of making it big and fishing tour level events. To do this I decided to start guiding on the mother lode lakes during the down time when tournament season comes to an end. I enjoy taking people out and teaching them techniques and where to find bass year round. No matter if I’m guiding or out practicing for a tournament I believe there’s always something to learn on the water.
I am excited for this upcoming year and being apart of RBBASS. I will continue to work hard at every tournament I enter and build new relationships with competitors.
