I fished Clear Lake for a few days with Josh Parris in prep for a Future Pro Tour event, here is how it went. We stayed in the north end fishing around Lake Port, Shoal markers and Rodman slough. When we fished near lake port we were fishing wooden walls and caught fish on senkos and dropshots rigged with a margarita mutilator Robo worm. Fishing the shoal markers and Rodman we were trying to imitate shad. The lake is absolutely full of bait, there is literally shad everywhere. An underspin with a white Keitech or River2Sea Rig Walker worked pretty good on the shoal markers, I also dropshotted a white swimbait. In Rodman slough we found fish chasing bait and blowing up on it at the surface, I believe all the fish we caught were looking to eat shad but in Rodmans it was obvious they were keyed in on it. We worked flukes on top of the water and dropshotted white swimbaits to get bit. The key for right now at the north end was imitating shad, other anglers had success on white chatter baits. On tournament day we caught all of our fish in Rodman slough, again, the key was to imitate the shad. We weighed in 18.2 pounds and took 9th place. Tight lines- Nick Lynch
