Bob Tyler and I got together to check out the bite at Clear Lake. The water temps were in the upper 70’s and low 80’s with about 3 ft of visibility. We fished the lower lake from the narrows to Red Bud. We started first targeting any grass we could find with frogs. Had a good bite going with numerous fish up to 3 lbs but it slowed once the sun got up. We then tossed jigs in and around the docks as well as chatterbaits and crankbaits. Caught fish all day long. For the jigs we used brown with green pumpkin craw trailers. The chatterbait I used was blue/black with a green pumpkin swimbait trailer. Bob tossed a shad pattern crankbait. The jig produced the most fish for us. Big fish for the day was a 8.4 toad I caught off bass alley on a jig.
Thanks for checking in with RBBass and best of luck on your next trip, Bob Pietruszka
