I’ve been able to play a couple days a week on the delta for the past couple months. Fish are currently in all stages of the spawn. The majority of fish are post spawn but you would be amazed how many pre spawn and spawning fish there still are. My bigger fish lately on days with no wind have been coming on frogs, senkos, drop shots, and punching. But when that wind blows the chatterbait and square bill bite has been happening. My partner Dave Romuar and I were able to win a small 24 boat turkey shoot with 23.80lbs. We ran reaction in the morning to get solid fish but once the sun got high and wind died we had to fish slow to pick up our two kickers. Some techniques have been very tide specific.
I am booking trips on delta and motherlode lakes.
