Let me introduce myself so that you can get to know me a little bit better. I am married to my best friend Traci, father of three amazing children. I am a full time diesel mechanic shop Foreman and have been for the last 28 years where I have completed a number of trade schools in the top of the class and have excelled in my career.
I first started fishing at the age of five with my father and grandfather; I veered off throughout my teen age years and picked it back up in my early twenty’s. From there I did a lot of bank and boat fun fishing for all species of fish. I picked up fly fishing and tying my own flies, I did this for a number of years and still don’t mind hitting the river for some peace and quiet.
My family and I love the bonding that goes along with fishing and the outdoors, we have made it an annual event to participate in the fish lake perch ice fishing tournament every year here in the state of Utah with my family. I compete in a number of ice tournament’s throughout the winter months to help broaden my skills in all different types of conditions. Five years ago I decided that I needed to challenge myself and I started tournament bass angling. As I do with everything I take it to an extreme. I researched some local clubs in my state and met with the leaders of the clubs. I expressed my interest in becoming a tournament angler and they were happy to have me.
I went to my local Cabela’s and purchased all of the basic gear I would need to start. I searched out a lot of Bass companies on Facebook and started reading and researching different techniques that I would need to broaden my skills. Along my first season I started Pro-staffing for a couple companies and started really getting a passion for the sport. My passion soon turned into an obsession for catching bass, needless to say my first year was a huge success I place in the top three of all of the tournament’s I fished in the local trails with four first place finishes, and two big fish awards in two tournaments. I won the AOY for the state in all local tournament trails and was invited to compete in the Utah B.A.S.S Nation State team qualifier on Lake Powell in Utah. After the three day tournament and battling the 200 best anglers and co-anglers in the surrounding states I place 13th in the state of Utah. I missed the cut for the state team by 2lbs but this has made me push even harder season after season.
