This report covers my trip to Lake Oroville from April 17th to April 19th, 2025. My trip started out with an evening trip on April 17th from 4:30PM to sunset. I fished the middle arm of the lake and started off targeting main rocky points leading into shallow pockets. Throwing a drop shot, neko rig and a small minnow style bait. The neko rig produced the most bites but the minnow produced the biggest bites. The fish were very shallow and all around any type of structure. We closed the evening out fishing submerged trees and caught several 2.5lb spotted bass on the Yamamoto scope shad as well as flipping the neko rigged senko. The second and third days I ran farther up the middle arm and was able to replicate the pattern, mainly using the senko to locate fish. I mixed in a topwater walking bait and got a few blow ups but no hook ups. The bass were still holding tight to cover, suspending in the submerged trees and up shallow on rocky banks. The final day was slower by Oroville standards but the bite quickly picked up one the wind started blowing. I had several back to back hookups and ended the trip with well over 50 fish. Now is the time to get out there and have a blast catching numbers! Good luck and tight lines.
