Lake Oroville Bass Fishing Report for March 2026.
Head out to Lake Oroville this past weekend for some early spring time bass fishing. A quick heads up, Lake Oroville has their own golden mussel tag that is independent of Folsom, Berryessa and any other lake in the area. The cost is free, but the decontamination station does not open until 8:30AM at the Forebay Rec Area. Loafer Creek launch ramp is also open earlier than Bidwell Canyon so if you are looking to get checked in and launched before sunrise, go to Loader launch ramp. Lake conditions. Water temp is in the 60s in various locations around the lake. Water clarity is 10 -15 feet. Ambient air temperature that day ranged from 57 – 91 degrees. Be aware there is still floating debris in the lake that you need to check and eye out for . Be safe and pay attention! Always wear your life jacket. What caught fish: This time of year you can caught a lot of fish on finesse techniques, ie neko rig, worm, and ned rig. I found success mid strolling a minnow and using dice style baits. Additionally, I covered water using a crankbait and jerkbait.
