Angling enthusiasts have much to look forward to at the ISE Sportsman’s Show in January 2024, as expert angler Mark Lassagne is slated to host seminars the first two days of the show, titled “Rig It Right.” With a reputation for meticulousness, Lassagne plans to delve into bait presentation, a critical skill that he believes many anglers lack proper training in. His years on the water have led him to the conclusion that incorrect bait rigging is a major factor in unsuccessful fishing excursions.
The “Rig It Right” seminars are designed to demystify the process of rigging and working various popular baits. Participants will benefit from Lassagne’s in-depth demonstrations on how to effectively rig a basic worm, construct a Shakey head, and prepare a Ned Rig. Additionally, Lassagne will showcase the proper use of a Keitech or small swimbaits, Drop shot, and the Wacky Senko. For those interested in the subtleties of jigs, he will explain the nuances between a spider and standard jig, as well as how to employ creature baits and Chatterbaits with a Zak O trailer.
But rigging is just the start. Lassagne’s seminars will also cover timing and scenarios for various techniques such as when to punch, pitch, or dropshot. He will highlight the best conditions for employing a Shakey head, Spinner bait, Crankbait, Jerk bait, and various topwater lures including poppers, Buzzbaits, and walking baits.
